FAQ
Do I have to participate in all competitions sequentially?
No. All competitions are targeted to the particular levels of students' startups and do not require participation in the sequential order. For example, if you've already started to develop the product and test your business model, you may apply to ACCELERATE competition without participating in the PITCH one.
Is it for Skoltech students only?
No. Any Russian startup project with at least one actual Skoltech student as a decision-making team member is eligible to participate.
Should I give something in return for prize in case of winning?
No. The prizes are no-dilution meaning that they do not dilute your company's stakeholders shares. So, by this meaning they can be called "free," and noone will ask you to give them back or provide a company share. The only thing we would ask you is to spent them accurately and according to the very flexible and low-beurocracy Agreement of participation, which you will need to sign in order to participate in finals.
On which things can we spend the prizes?
In general, on everything related to the startup project, i.e., marketing and PR activities, salaries, team-building events, and startup-related appliances. The detailed list of the available expenditures will be provided in the Agreement of participation, which you will need to sign in order to participate in finals.
Do I have to provide any license to Skoltech in the case of winning?
We do not regulate any IP-related affairs. However, you should be sure that you are eligible to use the IP, on which your technology is based. For instance, if you team includes Skoltech employees, you should have a clear understanding of your related rights and obligations. In this case, we strongly recommend to consult with the Skoltech KTO.
What about NDA?
We do not sign any NDAs because it does not make sense at this stage. In case of getting to the finals, please, be ready to provide few sentences about your project for the website and present your startup during a public live event.
Is there any limitation related to the size of the team?
No. The only thing you need to take into account is that one of your team members should be a current Skoltech student.
I have an idea but have no team. What should I do?
Submit your pitch and wait for the updates. We will organize team forming events for all participants. Also, you can join our Telegram chat and network with other interested students.
